Tyreke Evans visit to Memphis
I had a chance to catch up with Tyreke the other night after his game about how the recruiting process is going and how his visit to Memphis was. Tyreke Evans is the top unsigned player in the class of 2008 and is down to Memphis, Texas, Villanova, Uconn and Seton Hall. Tyreke and his American Christian team are trying to capture the Prep School National Championship at Fordham University this week.
What are some of the deciding factors for you when picking a school?
“I am looking at the facility the coach and campus not just the basketball wise I am looking for academics as well.”
How was your visit to Memphis?
“It was a good visit I liked the school and I have a couple of friends down there. It’s a nice campus down there I like the program I like the things Coach Cal has done with the team and it’s a great offense.”
Are you still planning to announce after McDonald’s All-American Game?
“Yes”

I watched Mr. Evans compete in Virginia twice. Man the young man has skill and talent. Moreover, his personal character was very humble. he took time to take photos with the kids at the Battle at the beach in VA Beach. I want to thank him for this. My son was really inspired by him. I wish you all the luck…remember…there’s no price fo a solid education…I know you will make it in B Ball…just understand when the ball stops bouncing..you need a plan make a wise choice and GOD BLESS.

Tyreke Evans is overrrated.I`ve seen him play several times and he stinks.No wonder Roy Williams isn`t recruiting him at North Carolina.He just dosen`t play hard.I saw a kid half his size punk him.And another time a underclassman had a career game on him in front of a national TV audience. His nickname is Too Easy,how about giving him the nickname Too Lazy!

Overrated huh? Seems he just was named top player at McDonald’s All American game. I guess everyone else playing against him were punks too?

Coach Cal will get him ready to compete at the next level. He has a lot of growing and learning to do but this kid is the truth. Just wait and see him in a Tigers uniform and performing at the speed of lightning (That’s how Memphis plays). That is if Derrick Rose goes pro (which ofcourse he will- phenom!).
