Scotty Hopson (University Heights, KY) Commits to Tennessee

Scotty Hopson the second highest ranked unsigned senior behind Tyreke Evans (American Christian, PA) committed today while on an official visit to the school. Scotty had verbally committed to Mississippi State but never ended up signing his letter of intent.
He decided to re-open his recruitment to checkout his options. This commitment today is a little bit of a surprise after Hopson had said at the McDonald’s All-American that he wanted to use all of his visits then decide after that. He is a very skilled and athletic wing who finishes strong and well filling the lanes on the break. He has the abilities to come in and make a early impact next season for UT.
This was a great pick up for the Vols and will upgrade there already talented team for next season.

I’ve watched this kid play. He’s good with the ball in his hands but loafs on defense. Only plays when he wants to. Not that great.
