2008 Jordan Brand All-American Game Rosters

The 2008 Jordan Brand All-American game will take place on Saturday evening at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The game will air live on ESPN 2 at 9 P.M. This is always one of the better all-star games each I mean you can’t beat going to watch the top incoming freshmen class play in MSG in New York City. It also doesn’t hurt that the event is put on by Michael Jordan’s shoe & clothing company.

Some of the now NBA superstars who have played in this game include LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwight Howard, Amare Stoudemire, Chris Paul, Rudy Gay, Kevin Durant and many other talented NBA and NCAA players have taken part in this event.

This years teams are loaded with many talented players who know how to bring some flash to the game. This should be a very fun and interesting game to watch. Some of these players include Brandon Jennings, Tyreke Evans, DeMar DeRozan, Kemba Walker and Jrue Holiday with many other outstanding players joining them.

LOS ANGELES (March 19, 2008) – In its third decade of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in partnership with RISE Magazine, today announced senior combo guard Jrue Holiday of Campbell Hall (North Hollywood, Calif.) as its 2007-08 Gatorade National Boys Basketball Player of the Year.

The 2008 Nike Hoops Summit game will take place in Portland, OR at the Rose Center on April 12, 2008. The game will be played at 1 p.m. (PT) on national television broadcasted by FOX Sports Net. This is the 11^th annual Nike Hoops Summit each year the USA has put together some of the top players in the country to compete against an international squad of 19 – under all stars.

On Saturday night at UCLA Derrick Favors and his South Atlanta (GA) team defeated a tough Campbell Hall (CA) team in double OT 78 to 77. Each of these players our elite prospects in their respected classes. Derrick Favors is a 6’9 (PF) in the class of 2009 ranked in the top 5 players in the class. Jrue Holiday is a 6’3 (CG) in the class of 2008 headed to UCLA next year and also ranked in the top 5.

They both lived up to their rankings in this great game. Derrick Favors finished with 32 points and 29 rebounds. Jrue Holiday totaled 35 points, 18 rebounds, 7 assists and 9 steals.

Jrue Holiday is a top 5 player in the class of 2008. Justin is a freshmen at University of Washington.

St. Edward, OH defeats Campbell Hall, CA in overtime 78 to 73 on Espn 2

In a game that matched up two of the elite prospects in the class of 2008 it lived up to the hype. The game went back and fourth at the beginning then Campbell Hall opened up a small lead ending the quarter 23 to 20. Jrue Holiday was outstanding in the first quarter finishing with 14 points. Delvon Roe and Tom Pritchard each put in 6 points for St. Edward in the quarter. In the second quarter Campebell Hall improved on there lead to go into halftime with a 37 to 29 lead. The third quarter saw Tom Pritchard start to insert himself on both ends of the floor he finished with 9 points in the quarter and gave St. Edward a 53 to 50 lead going into the fourth quarter. The teams fought back and fourth the whole quarter with freshmen Austin McBroom hitting a huge 3 pointer to tie the game up and send it into OT.  In overtime St. Edward was able to take over and get a hard fought victory. This is a list of top performers for Campbell Hall and St. Edward. Jrue Holiday for (CH) finished with 31 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 2 turnovers, James Johnson (CH) totaled 9 points and about 9 or 10 rebounds played strong around the basket, Austin McBroom (CH) finished with 9 points and played a solid game. The standouts for St. Edward were Delvon Roe 18 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 2 steals, Tom Pritchard was a beast on the inside finishing with 23 points and 11 rebounds, also Frankie Dobbs finished with 14 points and played a very solid game showing a good feel for the game.

Campbell Hall (CA) vs St. Edward (OH) on Espn 2 at 9 p.m.

Espn 2 will be airing there first game of the season tonight for high school. This game will match up to of the elite players in the class of 2008. Campbell Hall has Jrue Holiday headed to UCLA and St. Edward has Delvon Roe headed Michigan State.
