DeMarcus Cousins (LeFlore, AL) Class of 2009

DeMarcus Cousins has narrowed his list down to a final five which include Memphis, Rice, Washington, N.C. State and Kansas State. He also said that if Coach Mike Davis of UAB was to be hired at another school that university would be added to his list of schools.

Lance Stephenson (Lincoln, NY) Class of 2009

Lance Stephenson has updated his list of schools which now includes Maryland, USC, St. John’s and Kansas. That means that Memphis has been eliminated from his schools of interest. He also said he plans on making his announcement in March, hopefully after the PSAL AA championship at Madison Square Garden on the 21st.

Lance Stephenson (Lincoln, NY); Takes Official Visit to Maryland

This past weekend at the Comcast Center there was a special surprise guest in attendance for the Terrapins game against the University of Miami. The guest was five star recruit Lance Stephenson (Lincoln, NY) who decided to take an official visit to Maryland last weekend.

The official visit came as a big surprise since in the past few weeks; University of Maryland never got mentioned in his list of schools he was considering. The school list includes St. John’s, Memphis, USC and Kansas. One thing on “Terrapins” side might be that his high school teammate James Padgett signed with Maryland in the fall.

The recruitment of Lance Stephenson will continue to be long and drawn out and when it comes down to it he is destined to be a one and done player at the college level next year. So it should be interesting over the next few months to see if anymore surprise school show up on his radar.

Lance Stephenson is averaging 32.5 points and 11.6 rebounds per game this season.

Dominic Cheek the standout wing from St. Anthony’s, NJ has narrowed it down to Kansas and Villanova. He is still set to announce today around 6 p.m. after practice.

There has been reports that he has decided to attend Villanova next season. This would give Nova one of the best incoming recruiting classes in the country, with Maalik Wayns (Roman Catholic, PA), Isaiah Armwood (Montrose Christian, MD) and Mouphtaou Yarou (Montrose Christian, MD). They also will get Duke transfer Taylor King next season.

If this is true that means Kansas has lost out on another top prospect after Xavier Henry picked Memphis over Kansas. They will now turn there focus on Lance Stephenson (Lincoln, NY) and John Wall (Word of God, NC).

In a match-up of top 10 teams #10 Duncanville (TX) defeated # 6 Lincoln (NY) 77 to 57 behind 20 points from 6’7 wing Shawn Williams. Lance Stephenson aka “Born Ready” from Coney Island Lincoln High didn’t disappoint with a full arsenal on the offensive end with a game high 32 points on 13-21 field goal.

In the early going of this contest it looked like Duncanville would run away with the game leading 20 to 4 at the end of the first quarter with Lance Stephenson picking up 2 early fouls. The start of the second quarter Lance was back on the floor and put his team on his back scoring 15 points in the quarter helping Lincoln out score Duncanville 32 to 15 taking a 36 to 35 lead into the half.

In the second half Duncanville just proved to be over powering pulling away in the fourth quarter. Other players that had standout performances were juniors Perry Jones and Julian Washburn who both scored in double figures and were active on the glass.

Lance Stephenson listed Kansas, St. John’s, USC and Memphis as possible places for him to land next season.
