Top prospects from Primetime Shootout in Trenton, NJ
Class of 2008
Greg Monroe 6’10/220 (Georgetown) (Helen Cox, LA)
24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists
Greg Monroe is a 6’10 combo forward who has a tremendous amount of skills to go along with his long frame. He showed a lot of different aspects of his game on Saturday night including putting a full effort into the game. He scored from all over the floor hitting the 3 and midrange jumper along with a solid job on the boards. At 6’10 he has the ability to bring the ball up the court effortlessly showing his court vision to find open teammates on the break. He will fit in perfectly at Georgetown next season; he is an unselfish player who doesn’t need the ball to impact the game. The main thing people want to see from Greg is for him to play hard every time out on the court. Sometimes he just doesn’t seem like he feels like playing just going through the motions but he showed great effort in this game. More

Well I am on the road again this weekend to cover the second weekend of Primetime Shootout in New Jersey. I headed up Friday afternoon to watch 3 headline match-ups at the Lewis Brown Arena (RAC) on Rutgers University campus.
The group from Primetime Shootout had four nationally ranked teams at this event with # 1 St. Anthony’s, # 3 St. Benedict’s, # 11 Oak Hill and # 13 St. Patrick. The big match-up of the night was St. Benedict’s vs. St. Patrick in the final game. These two teams our both national powers and rivals in New Jersey.
The individual standouts on the night were Mike Rosario (Rutgers, St. Anthony’s, NJ) who had 32 points in 20 minutes on his future court. Brandon Jennings (Arizona, Oak Hill, VA) who finished with 35 points and 9 assists. Dexter Strickland (UNC, St. Patrick, NJ) who totaled 32 points in 3 quarters of action, Samardo Samuels (Louisville, St. Benedict’s, NJ) dominated on the inside for 30 points and 7 rebounds.
