36th_v3In day two at Bishop Verot H.S. there were some big time performances along with a huge upset. Kenny Boynton (American Heritage, FL) poured in 43 points against Dunbar, FL. In last year’s tournament Boynton set a single game scoring record versus Dunbar going off for 61 points. Lance Stephenson (Lincoln, NY) led his team to a 70-55 victory behind a game high 37 points. This has been a long day for the Railsplitters from NYC who have been stuck traveling all day with weather delays and arrived at the gym around 9:30 p.m. Super sophomore Austin Rivers (Winter Park, FL) led his team to a huge upset of preseason #1 Duncanville, TX with a 69-64 win. He finished with a game high 26 points. The #1 team in the land Mater Dei, CA showed why completely dominating a over matched Fayette County, GA team winning easily 74-46. 

Game # 1 – American Heritage (FL) vs. Dunbar (FL) 87 to 67

Leading Scorers: Kenny Boynton (American Heritage, FL) 43 points on 16-28 FG and 7-11 from 3 and 7 rebounds, Remi Barry added 14 points and 10 rebounds and Ray Taylor chipped in 9 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds for American Heritage. David Paulk (Dunbar, FL) had 24 points and 13 rebounds and Darius Perkins added 23 points for Dunbar, FL.

Game # 2 – Arlington Country Day (FL) vs. Fort Myers (FL) 56 to 46

Leading Scorers: Rodney McGruder (ACD, FL) finished with 25 points and 11 rebounds along with 13 points and 7 rebounds from Wally Judge. Colin Henry (Fort Myers, FL) had 15 points in defeat and Evin Grahman added 12 points.

Game # 3 – Winter Park (FL) vs. Duncanville (TX) 69 to 64

Leading Scorers: Austin Rivers (WP, FL) led all scorers with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals, Isaac Turner finished with 20 points  and Adam Jones chipped in 11 points in the upset for Winter Park, FL. Rodger Dowell led Duncanville with 16 points, Shawn Williams and Jamison Sterns chipped in 13 points. Roger Franklin was a little off tonight adding 10 points for Duncanville.

Game # 4 – Westchester (CA) vs. Olympia (FL) 69 to 66

Leading Scorers: Dominique O’Conner (Westchester, CA) continued his solid play leading four players in double digits with a game high 21 points, Deshun McCoy added 15 points, Dwayne Polee chipped in 12 points and 7 rebounds and Jordin Mayes came up with 11 points in the victory. Olympia was paced by Dexter Fields with 20 points he received help from Jamel Marshall and William Green with 12 and 10 points.

Game # 5 – Mater Dei (CA) vs. Fayette County (GA) 74 to 46

Leading Scorers: Mater Dei received a balanced attack in this blowout game with David Wear leading the way with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Others who chipped in were Travis Wear with 14 points, Tyler Lamb 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 steals and 4 assists. Gary Franklin added 13 points, 3 rebounds and 4 assists. Fayette County got 18 points and 5 rebounds from (USC signee) Noel Johnson on 7-23 FG also Malcolm Brogdon added 11 points and 7 rebounds.

Game # 6 – Lincoln (NY) vs. Briarcrest (TN) 70 to 55

Leading Scorers: Lance Stephenson (Lincoln, NY) had a huge game finishing with a game high 37 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals and Darwin Ellis added 11 points for the Railsplitters. Lesile McDonald finished with 24 points and 6 rebounds and Johnny Williams added 14 points in defeat for Briarcrest, TN.
